Some call it the miracle tree, some call it the magic tree, but to the people of Munene in Mozambique, this is a tree of life, with a rich source of nutrients, a tree that came like Manna and ended starvation in the area.
These poor communities use the Moringa tree as a solution to their hunger. They consider it a mult-nutritional tree. The Renasce Esperanca has started planting some Moringa trees in Munene, Chimoio, Mbukuta and Gorongosa communities.
Experts say as a source of good nutrition, its leaves are considered the best, with its high quantities of vitamin A and significant quantities of vitamin C, calcium, iron, protein, potassium, magnesium, selenium, zinc and a good balance of all the essential amino acids.
