The Njube Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe (ELCZ) INFOHUT Life skills & Computer Training Programme gives students access to Information technology skills for computer competence in career advancement, improved productivity at work and increase computer literacy in the society. The INFOHUT program combines instructor-led, online education with computer laboratory exercises to enable students to have a better understanding of computers. INFOHUT works hand in hand with its partners like schools and colleges, businesses, health organizations, international organizations, unions, and government agencies.
INFOHUT is a LUCSA project initiated by a team of young IT professionals for the youths targeting to impart professional skills through a programme which integrates Information Technology and HIV-AIDS, prevention, Care and treatment.
HIV-AIDS Prevalence
Southern Africa has the highest HIV Infection rate and is the most affected. The epidemic has left no institution untouched in the sub-region. We are all challenged to come up with new ideas, work together in the prevention of HIV- AIDS and empower especially the youths with the skills they need to meet the challenges posed by the epidemic, otherwise the sub-region is clouded with a great deal of social economic, and political uncertainties.
INFOHUT is taking the struggle against the epidemic right in to the society. Following the success of the pilot project in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa in 2007/2008. LUCSA intends to set up as many INFOHUTs as possible in communities in Southern Africa. Computers and IT appeal to young people, what a better way can we think of today to catch this most vulnerable group with message of HIV- AIDS other than this innovative approach. It is said "Great hunters waitfor their prey at the drinking point".
Objectives
The primary objective of INFOHUT is to create an HIVADIS free generation using computers as a platform to disseminate vital information on life skills and simultaneously imparting IT skills to young people by:
- Empowering and educating the young with skills and information to fight against HIV-AIDS.
- Preparing school leaver for job market. Involving pupils and their teachers in community HIV-AIDS education programmes.
Life Skills and Computer Training Course
Life skills and computer training course is a course which all youths must have. The course is made up of two parts, life Skills and Computer training which can not be separated. Computer training prepares students for the industry-recognised International Computer Certificate.
Life Skills Course Content
Upon successful completion of Life Skills course students will have acquired knowledge in the following areas:

Computer Training
This is an intensive introduction to computers course for Life Skills designed to cover key components of computers. Upon successful completion Students will have acquired competencies in the following:

- Information and Communication
