Even though colonialism and apartheid officially ended the social and economic consequences are still existent until today. For example, not all people have access to health services or adequate educational system. In South Africa for instance the wealth disparity ratio persist where appr. 20% of the population accumulate riches, whereas 79% of the black population live in severe poverty.
The Justice and Reconciliation Fund is used to overcome injustices that are still resulting from the times of colonialism and apartheid and seeks to invest in initiatives that build capacity and sustainable livelihoods. The fund supports projects related to Disaster Response, Health and Wellness issues Christian Education and Gender Justice and Women’s Empowerment.
