The 2025 Bishops and Church Leaders Conference convened by LUCSA brings together seasoned and newly elected church leaders to deliberate on pressing issues affecting the communion and society at large. With a focus on “Envisioning a Cooperative Future,” the gathering highlights the evolving role of church leadership in addressing theological advancements, social justice, climate change, and organizational ethics.

Recognizing the growing need for a faith-driven response to climate justice, the conference dedicated sessions to exploring the church’s role in environmental stewardship. Leaders acknowledged the moral obligation to advocate for sustainable practices and promote ecological awareness within congregations.

Moreover, ethical leadership and the conduct of church leaders were key topics of discussion. Presenters emphasized the importance of accountability, integrity, and moral leadership in ensuring that bishops uphold the values of the communion. As part of their induction, new bishops were guided through the expectations of their office, reinforcing their duty to serve with wisdom and humility.

The conference also addressed the broader organizational challenges facing the communion, including strategic governance, financial sustainability, and effective communication. With collective wisdom and shared experiences, bishops and church leaders are shaping a future where faith and action converge to make a meaningful impact on communities.

LUCSA remains committed to supporting its leaders in fostering an inclusive, just, and ethically grounded church that responds effectively to contemporary challenges.
