LUCSA Hosts Theological Training Forum:

“Envisioning a Cooperative Future”

From November 11 to 15, 2024, LUCSA (Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa) held the Theological Training Forum at the Lakeview Boutique Hotel, bringing together church leaders, theologians, and educators from across Southern Africa to discuss essential advancements in theological education. Notable speakers, including Rev Morekwa, Rev Morwaeng, and Rev Mkhabela, contributed their expertise to this collaborative event.

With the theme “Envisioning a Cooperative Future,” the forum aimed to establish a unified approach to pastoral training, bridging current gaps in theological education across the region. Central topics included the need for a standardized curriculum and foundational criteria for ministry qualifications. The discussions also highlighted the importance of structured pastoral formation, emphasizing both practical skills and spiritual resilience. This initiative seeks to ensure that pastors are well-prepared to navigate the unique challenges of ministry while upholding their dignity and personal well-being.
