MEET THE STAFF
Rev. Lilana Kasper – Executive Director
Rev. Lilana Kasper is a seasoned female leader, passionate about the church, mission and particularly Gender Justice, pastoral counseling, and healing. She is an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (ELCSA) and serves the church in various capacities. Having a postgraduate qualification in Pastoral Counselling she is currently enrolled for her doctoral studies. Rev. Kasper is the first female executive director of LUCSA and brings a wealth of experience in management and administration from both the civil sector and church to the post. Her vision is to see a Communion of Lutherans flourishing in living out Christ salvation in the region through active participation in the lives of church members in a holistic way.

Tumi Pitje PA to Executive Director and Admin Administrator
Mrs. Tumi Pitje brings her strong organizational and administrative skills to LUCSA as the PA to the Executive Director and Admin Administrator. Tumi’s vision for LUCSA and the broader church community is to see each of the member church united with a common vision and goal. She believes that unity and a shared purpose can drive the church community forward.

Lindelwa Gqweta – Finance Officer
Mrs. Lindelwa Gqweta is seasoned in the field of Finance and holds a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration with many years of experience. She brings her extensive educational background, financial expertise, and a deep passion for community development to her role as the Finance Officer at LUCSA. Her vision for the church’s growth and value, along with her personal interests, underscores her dedication to both her work and her community. Linde, who is a member of the Moravian Church in South Africa (MCSA) sees the Lutheran Communion growing, not only in numbers but in value as well.

Beryl Willoughby – Bookkeeper
Mrs. Beryl Willoughby plays a vital role as the bookkeeper where she manages financial matters to support the at LUCSA mission and growth. She holds qualifications in the fields for finance and administration bringing a diverse set of skills and interests to her role. She is passionate about three key areas – people, finance, and the Word of God. Beryl’s vision for the Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa is to see it grow and prosper. She is committed to contributing to the organization’s success through her work in finance and administration.

Othusitse Morekwa – Diakonia Programs, HIV and AIDS Coordinator
Rev. Dr. Othusitse Morekwa is an ordained pastor the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Botswana (ELCB) and other than working in the Communion Office also serves the church in various capacities. His passion lies in the profound work of God’s mission and he holds a Doctor of Theology qualification. Morekwa’s strong commitment to diakonia and mission programs as well as HIV and AIDS work is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the church and its mission. He envisions well-established and sustainable diakonial and mission programs within Lutheran churches across the region. His vision extends beyond the immediate to create a lasting impact on the broader church community.

Morwaeng Motswasele – Christian Education Program Coordinator
Rev. Morwaeng Motswasele understands God’s mission as making the church contextually relevant in the world. Christian Education is one of the tools ensures that the church remains relevant. He is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (ELCSA). He holds a post graduate qualification in Biblical Studies and has a passion about working with young people. Confirmation Ministry is his passion. Driven by the Reformation understanding of ecclesia semper reformanda est, he envisages a church always reforming not only itself, but also the community and geo-politics around the church. Christian Education and an open mind are mindsets needed to live out the essence of fellowship and community being continuously renewed called and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Musa Dlamini – HIV and AIDS Field Officer
Mr. Musa Dlamini is passionate about community development work in the church and has many years of experience in experience facilitating public health programs in different organizations. He holds various qualifications in the fields of Community Development, Project Management and Psychology-Social Support. Musa envisages a Communion where people have access to preventative measures and treatment and people can seek especially psychological help without fear of stigma and prejudice as Christ has promised everyone life in abundance.

Colleen Cunningham – Gender Justice and Women’s Empowerment Program Coordinator
Mrs. Colleen Cunningham is a qualified clinical healthcare professional passionate about our Creator God, people, and justice. She is a member of the Moravian Church in South Africa (MCSA) and has been involved with LUCSA and LWF Gender Justice work for many years. As a volunteer, her passion for Women’s Human Rights, expertise in Gender Justice, research, and administration as well as her personal interests highlight her well-rounded personality. She envisions a Lutheran Communion where all peoples, especially women and girls are valued and treated with dignity and respect as God’s creation.

Päivi Helena Löytty – Program Advisor – Gender Justice Program and Diakonia & Mission
Deaconess Päivi Helena Löytty is a deaconess in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Finland (ELCF) and works as missionary of the Finish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM) seconded to the LUCSA Diakonia and Mission Desk. She holds a qualification in Social Services and brings with her passion and many years of experience in diaconal work amongst youth and children, in the areas of alcohol and substance abuse. She sees a LUCSA that will continue in advocating and empowering the vulnerable and marginalized peoples using an holistic diaconical approach.

Chengetai Chifamba – InfoHut Coordinator
Mrs. Chengetai Chifamba is passionate about youth development and holds a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration focusing on IT. As a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe (ELCZ) she brings her strong educational background and a deep passion for youth development to her role as the InfoHut Coordinator at LUCSA. Her vision for self-sustenance and her diverse personal interests demonstrates a well-rounded and dedicated individual who contributes to the church community’s growth and sustainability. She believes that by equipping and empowering young people, the church can secure its future and ensure its sustainability.

Sakari Löytty – Program Advisor – Christian Education Desk
Dr. Sakari Löytty works as missionary of the Finish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM) seconded to the LUCSA Christian Education Desk where he brings his passion for Music, especially African music, and contextual liturgy to the work. He holds a Doctor of Music qualification coupled with many years of experience as freelance musician and music educator. He envisages a Lutheran Communion geared towards the mission of God which transcends all local, regional, and global borders, unified in diverse forms of worship, music and liturgical expressions.

Patricia Sibanyoni – Gender Justice Program Coordinator
Mrs. Patricia Sibanyoni is deeply passionate about social justice and women’s empowerment and holds a postgraduate qualification in Social Science with a focus on community development and issues of social justice. Her strong academic background, commitment to social justice, and her passion for empowering women and girls is not only a personal calling but also a central aspect of her role as the Gender Justice Program Coordinator at LUCSA. Sis Pat is dedicated to fighting for equality and empowering women, men and young girls and boys and dreams of a world where women and young girls are empowered for community development and leadership.
