Peace building Migrants, displaced people and refugee Programme

The foundation of Diakonia is the call to minister and care for needs of humanity and Gods creation. The Church witnesses to the resurrected Christ through various diaconal responses in communities. The Mission and Diakonia Programme has developed into a voice for LUCSA to action against injustice, the alleviation of suffering, poverty, and so has become the driving force behind advocacy and outreach. The purpose of diakonia is inextricably linked to the gospel, through the cross, to serve the needs of God people. The Communion Office is determined to participate with member churches in exploring new areas of learning and sharing best practices with regard to how churches and communities can address socio-economic and political challenges in Southern Africa in light of the Gospel of Christ.

Disaster prevention, response, and management

Southern Africa is a sub region vulnerable to both man made and natural disasters due to climate change. The programme empowered member churches to respond, prevent and manage all kinds of disasters that hid communities. That includes Psyche-social support trauma counselling and material support.

Local Resource Mobilisation in member churches

The sustainability of diakonia programmes and projects in member churches is determined by destiny and impact of the prophetic voice of the Church in society. God has provided member churches with abundant resources that are not realized.

Monitoring diakonia programme in member churches

The Communion Office provides accompaniment for member churches diakonia programme through monitoring and technical support.
